Happy Birthday to Me

This year, looking back I realized that within a year, I lived in 4 different cities, Taipei, Hong Kong, San Francisco, New York. Each city amazing in its own way, having the honor and blessing to experience them all was truly humbling and exciting. I’ve never expected myself to make these big changes.

But what I’ve realized looking back is, everyday you take a small step forward or pivot towards something you want to achieve because of new paradigms you realize or learnings from people. Overtime, all the small steps and pivoting adds up and puts you somewhere or changes you to someone you never thought you’d be.

It’s the most beautiful thing when you take a step back, zoom out to see where you are, compare to another point in time. How much richer you’ve become in relationships and experiences.

We often overestimate how much we can do in one day but underestimate how much we can achieve in one year.

End of the day, realizing how simple it is. Trying the best you can everyday to become a better person, one step closer to where and who you want to be. A bit more skilled at things you are passionate about. Not afraid to make the big changes, trusting the gut. Doing it alone, leaving it all behind and starting over if you have to. Not worry too much about the future, living in the moment and see how far the little things you do everyday takes you in life.

Sometimes when I consider the tremendous consequences that come from the little things, I am tempted to think… there are no little things.

On to another, cheers!
